After lunch, we proceeded to Taman Air Spa, which ideally located in a less crowded portion of Kuta. Bearing stresses from work and traveling, we looked forward to that afternoon, and it turned out to be a perfect place to relax and get a true Balinese massage. Read more…
Right as we arrived at Taman Air Spa, the attendants took care of our reservation. We checked the place out as we waited—from its chic interiors to its gorgeous outdoor lagoon, which is the centerpiece that gave the spa (taman air means water park in Indonesian) its name. With top-class facilities, it’s without a doubt a classy, elegant place.
A concept of Avilla Hospitality, a renowned management company based in Bali, the spa offers a wide range of treatments: massages, body scrubs and masks, beauty rituals, and romantic flower baths. But their most requested services are their signature spa journeys that pair traditional massages with rituals that are both relaxing and renewing.
The treatments are done in their twelve deluxe treatment rooms that each have a hot tub, their single and double rooms for different types of traditional massages, their spacious reflexology area for six, or their two Spa Suites that both have a private bale bengong (Balinese pavilion) and hot tub. In addition to these are an in-house beauty salon and café.
We were treated to a two-hour Balinese massage, which is described by the spa as:
The tranquility of Balinese massage evolved from the early traditional home medicine and is focused on warming the body through palm pressure, firm fingers and long stimulating strokes. The massage is performed to ease body tension, release stress and invigorate the senses.
Reserved for us that afternoon was one of their two Spa Suites, which was by far one of the best places we’ve ever gotten a massage. The tranquility it offered was unparalleled, and we totally loved the charming ambiance.
The massage was divine. Their artisans—what they call their therapists—are obviously experienced, with their impressive technique, and we were able to get the pressure we wanted.
Afterwards, we sipped on cups of ginger tea and relaxed in their café as we waited for our Uber car to pick us up. Our afternoon at Taman Air Spa was as relaxing as it was memorable. We’ll be sure to go back on our next trip.
