Visitors to Sentosa spend a lot of time at Imbiah Lookout because of its multitude of exciting attractions, including the most classic ones that every first-timer must do. On my last visit there, I made sure to redo most of what it has to offer. Here’s a look at some of them. Read more…
BUTTERFLY PARK & INSECT KINGDOM
Butterfly Park & Insect Kingdom is a must-do for nature lovers. Although situated in an outdoor simulated environment, the attraction does have the “scents, sights, and sounds of an authentic tropical rainforest.” Its stars are, of course, the multitude of butterflies and exotic insects that are aflutter all over.
SENTOSA MERLION
The Sentosa Merlion, a representation of Singapore’s mermaid and lion hybrid symbol, stands mightily at 37 feet. What separates the one in Sentosa from the one at Marina Bay, however, is that the former lets its visitors to witness the legend of the merlion, ring the Prosperity Bell, and be awed by a commanding 360-degree view of the island at 60 meters above sea level.
TIGER SKY TOWER
The Tiger Sky Tower, named after Singapore’s beloved beer brand, is renowned as the tallest observation tower in Asia. Gently revolving to 131 meters above sea level, it provides splendid panoramic views of Sentosa, Singapore, and the Southern Islands.
IMAGES OF SINGAPORE LIVE!
One of Sentosa’s signature attractions recently got a facelift and rebirthed as Images of Singapore Live. Now more interactive and thus more exciting than its predecessor, the attraction features a gallery of how Singapore became what it is today. It is linked to the new Madame Tussauds Singapore wax museum with a boat ride called The Spirit of Singapore, which showcases the city-state’s most iconic symbols.
Some photos are from Singapore Tourism Board and Steve Bowen.
