Having been impressed with my stay at Seda Abreeza in Davao, I decided to try out Seda Atria in Iloilo, one of the more recent hotels in the up-and-coming boomtown. I wasn’t disappointed with the experience, as it turned out to be one of the best choices in the city.
From Iloilo International Airport in Cabatuan town, I took a shared van transfer to cut costs. I knew the ride would only get me to SM City Iloilo in Mandurriao district, but as it turned out, the trip can be extended a little to Atria Park District a few hundred meters away. The journey took me maybe 40 minutes.
Atria Park District is a new mixed-use, mostly-residential development by the prominent Ayala Land. Already in existence in the estate are a condominium, a school, a hospital, a strip mall with a 7-Eleven, and of course, Seda Atria. Situated in Mandurriao, it’s a few kilometers away from the city center, but it can be easily reached by jeepneys and taxis.
Upon entering, I liked the hotel’s lobby—it was simple, yet it reeked of style. The attractive color scheme made it seem warm and intimate, while its furnishings were clearly handpicked by someone with taste.
I arrived early for check-in, yet the charming front staff already handed me my keys. Seda Abreeza is by no means a big hotel, with only a few floors. I stayed on the fifth.
The room felt as equally inviting as the lobby. I appreciated that it had minimal décor and that an attractive set of earth tones were used to give it a relaxing appeal.
It had the needs of travelers covered—from the cozy bed to the stylish desk. The spotless bathroom, while on the small side, had a fantastic shower.
If there’s one thing Seda Hotels is really good at, it’s breakfast. Thus, I looked forward to waking up to the morning to savor Misto’s topnotch spread of Filipino and Western fare. During my stay, they served beef tapa, corned beef, pork adobo, dried squid, and perfectly crisp bacon, among others.
Again, Seda Atria is a small hotel, especially when compared to its sisters in other cities, so it doesn’t have much to offer by way of facilities. But it does have a 24-hour gym, meeting rooms, and an e-lounge.
IN A NUTSHELL: WHY STAY THERE?

It charges above the average rates, but it’s worth paying for, as it’s clearly one of Iloilo’s best options.

The location’s great, with the strip mall beside it and the city center not too far from it.

Their breakfast is one of the best in the country, in my opinion.
