When I stay at hotels, it’s incumbent that I try their main restaurant, even for a meal, as food and beverage are an integral part of their business—especially for business travelers who have no time to explore the choices around. When I stayed at Quest Hotel and Conference Center Cebu, I was able to explore its all-day dining restaurant, Puso Bistro & Bar. Read more…
THE RESTAURANT
Puso Bistro & Bar is the all-day dining restaurant of Quest Hotel and Conference Center Cebu that offers both a la carte and buffet selections. The restaurant’s interiors look modern and chic, reminscent of high-end hotel restaurants elsewhere.
THE MENU
Their a la carte selection is dominated by Filipino and fusion dishes, while their buffet has a great array of mostly Filipino specialties. They also offer quite an impressive selection of desserts, as well as breads and pastries to-go.
OUR FAVORITES
Off their breakfast buffet, I loved their beef tapa (marinated beef), pork tocino (cured pork), and their local danggit (fried sun-dried rabbitfish).
As for their a la carte and room service menus, although they do Western quite well—especially their Caesar salad—it was apparent that their kitchen specializes in Filipino fare. Notable dishes are their tuna kinilaw with guso (tuna ceviche with seaweed), which was obviously fresh, and their take on the local favorite pochero (beef bone marrow in broth), which was deeply flavorful.
VALUE FOR MONEY
Even walk-in, non-staying guests would flock the hotel’s breakfast buffet, as it serves a great selection at an affordable price. Their a la carte and room service menus are priced fairly as well and aren’t far off compared to restaurants within the city.
