After Lang Co and Hoi An, I had one night to spend in Da Nang. Reading guidebooks, I figured there wasn’t much to do in the said city, so I opted for more upscale accommodation to spend much of my time in. Among the options, Novotel Danang Premier Han River appealed to me most because of its affordable nightly rate, its ideal location, and frankly, its being Novotel-branded.
Novotel Danang Premier Han River is located right smack in the middle of the city—office buildings surround the hotel, while tourist spots are a short ride on a GrabCar away. However, its location’s primary selling point is its proximity from Han River, which affords the hotel stunning views.
Its lobby was grander than most Novotel properties I stayed at, owing to the fact that it actually is a towering five-star hotel with 37 floors, and 323 rooms, suites, and apartments.
I came in at a busy time of the day, right as when a tour group was checking in. Maintaining their composure, the friendly front staff handed me my keys as fast as they could, so I was on my way to my room in no time.
Unlike most other Novotel properties, my Superior Room featured a balcony with lounging chairs and a spectacular panorama of the river. At night when the lights were on, the view was even more gorgeous.
The room’s design followed the template by Atome Associés for Novotel hotels globally, with its key attributes being space, transparency, and light. A combination of earth tones, wooden panels, and colorful patterns were utilized to make the room’s atmosphere feel both modern and relaxing.
A key feature of the room was the the cozy Live N Dream by Novotel bed, which features a flex-slatted bed base that matches and absorbs movement, a memory foam mattress with pocket springs that adapts to the shape of the back, a warm but light duvet, Smart Pillows that can be folded when sitting up or unfolded when lying down, and lastly, rectangular pillows for neck support.
The room likewise featured an array of conveniences, including an LED TV, an electronic safety box, a minibar with tea and coffee making facilities, plenty of universal power outlets, and a working desk with multimedia connectivity. The spotless bathroom, meanwhile, was fitted with a rain power shower, and it was completely stocked with towels and eco-friendly amenities.
I had breakfast at The Square, which had a wide variety of Western, Asian, and Vietnamese fare. I actually liked its food, in general.
Although my stay at the hotel was short, I still was able to check out the hotel’s In Balance Fitness Center, as well as its rooftop swimming pool with a view of the river.
WHY STAY THERE?

It’s one of Da Nang’s best city hotels—judging by the quality of its rooms and facilities.
-
Its nightly rates are competitive compared to hotels in the area.
-
Its location is convenient; its views are unbeatable.
