Every year, LEGOLAND Malaysia holds its Star Wars Days in commemoration of the well-loved intergalactic movie franchise. This year also happens to be Star Wars’ 40th anniversary, so the resort is holding the largest and most exciting celebration in Asia.
According to the press release they sent in:
Relive the galaxy’s greatest adventure and experience the untold stories with LEGOLAND® Malaysia Resort as it brings you its largest celebration yet for LEGO® Star WarsTM Days. To celebrate 40 years in the galaxy far, far away, LEGOLAND® Malaysia Resort is going all out to bring the Star WarsTM experience to life with an array of galactic activities enabling every fan to experience the magic beyond the big screen. The star of the show lies at LEGO® Star WarsTM Miniland, the only indoor LEGO® Star WarsTM Miniland in Asia, where guests can experience a special ‘live storytelling’ of great scenes from the epic space saga exclusively for the month of May.
Taking it a notch higher, LEGOLAND® Malaysia Resort’s celebration includes a massive Imperial March with over 100 costume characters joining the parade; Star WarsTM Parades of the region. The Imperial March also features the top costumed fan groups in Malaysia, Singapore and other Asia Pacific Countries, showing their allegiance to the dark and light side. Catering to its biggest fans and in the spirit of bringing the galactic experience to life, everyone is invited to join and be a part of the parade through a new activity, Parade Tryouts!
Gear up for this one-of-a-kind experience as the Legions bring an amazing cast of characters including Jedis, Stormtroopers, and even villains to life with their screen-accurate costume replicas. Beyond that, at the peak of its celebrations now, the resort also featured an extra special commemorative session to honour Princess Leia – the toughest rebel in the galaxy. The resort is flocked with Star WarsTM fans dressed as Star Wars characters for this memorable session to remember and honour her life and legacy. Guests will also be in for a surprise as there is a chance that they may get to meet and greet the princess’ costume character at the resort’s Miniland for a memorable photo opportunity. This year’s LEGO® Star WarsTM celebration definitely promises to be bigger and better.
Those who wish to be one with the Force can do so at the Jedi Academy, where they can train to become a Jedi with our Master Jedi – if you’re lucky. To bring the Star WarsTM experience to life even further, Stormtroopers and Star WarsTM characters can be found roaming around the park and will stop for photo opportunities. The trickiest character to spot will be the elusive LEGO® Darth Vader, so be sure to be on a lookout for him.
