Seemingly a travel wish-granting factory, Jetstar is once again at it, giving away free flights—this time, to those who can post the best #TravelFakie.
What’s a #TravelFakie? A play on the beloved selfie, a travel fakie is “a selfie taken to make your followers believe you are travelling abroad on the adventure of a lifetime, when in fact you are still at home. This is a true art form of deception, only possible with imagination and practice.”
It may involve, among others, a play on costumes and props, or a showcase of mad Photoshop skills—long as there’s humor and creativity in it. The sky’s the limit—for instance, it can be a selfie with fake snow, or an encounter with a stuffed elephant assumed to be the real thing.
To get a chance to make that #TravelFakie a reality, simply upload a travel fakie, explain where and what’s being faked, tag Jetstar on Instagram (@jetstarasia), Facebook (@JetstarAsiaAirways) or Twitter (@Jetstar_Asia), and attach the hashtags #TravelFakie and #ActuallyInPhilippines.
Two winners and a companion each from the Philippines will be flown by Jetstar to the “faked” destination, and it may be wherever the airline flies, like Singapore, Japan, Australia, and Thailand, among a handful of countries. The contest is open until September 30, 2016.
