After a two-week jaunt around Indonesia, I came to Bali for a couple of nights to recharge before going back to home base. I didn’t need an ostentatious resort, since I wouldn’t be able to maximize my time in one, so I went for something more modest—ibis Styles Bali Benoa. The resort graciously hosted me try out their new MyResorts program, which is available to Le Club AccorHotels members.
WHAT IS MYRESORTS?
Simply put, the enhanced MyResorts program provides Le Club Accorhotels members with a suite of benefits in participating resorts in the Asia-Pacific region. Benefits vary by membership tier (Classic, Silver, Gold, and Platinum), and these benefits can either be complimentary or paid.
Getting status with Le Club AccorHotels is quite an easy feat with the multitude of AccorHotels properties in Asia-Pacific and the rest of the world, and the many room promotions the hotel chain offers. But for those who wish to elevate their status quickly, there’s the Accor Plus program that grants automatic Silver status and a complimentary night, among other benefits.

AIRPORT ARRIVAL
My flight from Jakarta landed late into the night, so it was a relief that somebody was picking me up from the airport. Waiting for me at arrivals were representatives from the hotel, led by the MyHost assigned to me. He was to take care of every aspect of my stay.
Then it was about a 20-minute drive from the airport on light traffic and across the toll road.
THE ROOM
I was informed at check-in that I was upgraded to a Junior Suite with the MyUpgrade benefit, which is available to Gold and Platinum members depending on availability.
The Junior Suite I had was one of the hotel’s best rooms, measuring 34 square meters. The design was elegantly modern with Balinese touches incorporated into the aesthetic.
It had all the necessary room and resort amenities, starting with the Sweet Bed by ibis, which I find to be among the best of its class.
FOOD AND DRINK
As expected of an ibis Styles property, breakfast was modest—though the spread was complete. It had tasty Indonesian, Western, and Asian dishes on offer.
I also had the chance to have lunch at the resort’s poolside restaurant, and I tried out its signature nasi goreng, which was really good and affordable. I especially liked the stewed beef that came with the dish.
THE BAR
The resort’s bar offers a free-flow happy hour through MyGlass. For quite an attractive price, one gets unlimited beer, soft drinks, and juices over a set time.
EXCURSION TO PANDAWA BEACH
My favorite part of the entire experience was MyDiscovery. Basically, I went on a private excursion to Pandawa Beach, which I’d never been to. Escorted by the resort team, I spent my afternoon there, soaking in a more local, relaxed ambiance. I honestly thought it was one of the better beaches in Bali.
RESORT FACILITIES
Apart from the trip to Pandawa Beach, I didn’t go out much from the resort during my stay there, so I was able to use its facilities, foremost being its swimming pool, which was surprisingly large for an ibis Styles property. There were a fitness center and a spa as well.
