I intended to stay in Da Nang for a couple of nights after Hoi An, which, by the way, made me love Central Vietnam. Although it was possible to stay in the city that time, I read there wasn’t much to do there, so I checked out the city’s top resorts—as if I hadn’t had enough beaches for the trip. What caught my attention was the gorgeous, highly-rated Hyatt Regency Danang, which turned out to be one of my most favorite resorts ever.
Hyatt Regency Danang Resort and Spa is situated on the coastal fringes of Da Nang City. A few minutes away is the historic city of Hoi An, to which the resort provides shuttle services for its guests, while the downtown of Da Nang, on the other hand, can be easily and quickly accessed with a taxi or GrabCar.
After staying in Hoi An, I opted to take the shuttle bus to the resort, which I paid a nominal fee for. The journey was scenic, and before long, we were already in the resort.
I was directed to the Regency Club for check-in. Even though the resort was busy that day, I was attended to immediately and checked in at once by the friendly lounge staff.
I was billeted in a Club Room on one end of the resort. The balcony featured a stunning view of the ocean, and it even had a circular sofa that was perfect for lazy afternoons.
But aside from the view, what I absolutely loved about my room was the design—simple yet clean, modern, and chic, it looked like a room lifted from the pages of a magazine.
The room, as expected of a five-star resort, covered everything every holidaymaker would need—from the cozy king bed with a luxurious duvet and feather pillows to the flip-flops and beach bag. The partitioned bathroom was immaculate and had an awesome rain shower, tub, and fragrant toiletries by Portico Spa.
Since, again, I was staying in a Club Room, I had access to the Regency Club, which, like my room, looked stunning in terms of design. Aside from the continental breakfast, I tried the evening cocktails, which had an impressive array of Western and Vietnamese hot and cold dishes paired with alcoholic beverages. Also, I was offered hot and cold beverages in the lounge all day, which was a practical (read: money-saving) benefit while staying at the resort.
I tried the breakfast at Greenhouse, and I was pleased with the filling selection of Western, Asian, and Vietnamese dishes.
Because I had plenty of time at the resort, I made sure that I tried its swimming pools—all five of them in total, including one exclusive for Regency Club guests. The modern, neat way they landscaped these pools left me impressed.
I also leisurely enjoyed the long stretch of white sand beach fronting the resort. The idyllic beach seemed near the city that a cluster of tall buildings formed an interesting backdrop.
Apart from the swimming pools and the beach, guests may enjoy the fitness center, the spa, the outdoor yoga pavilion, and the tennis courts. And being a Hyatt Regency, the resort likewise offers state-of-the-art indoor and outdoor MICE facilities.
