I was pleased to hear that the Erawan Group has recently opened its third hotel in the country, Hop Inn Hotel Aseana City Manila, which is just a few minutes away from the airport. And I was even happier (and honored) when they asked me to be one of their first guests. Here’s a review of my recent experience at the brand new hotel.
As stated in the name, Hop Inn Hotel Aseana City Manila is situated in Aseana City, Paranaque along Diosdado Macapagal Avenue. Anybody who lives or knows the area can vouch that it sits on a prime location—just a few hundred meters away are the Department of Foreign Affairs (for consular concerns and passport applications), City of Dreams Manila, Solaire Resort & Casino, Okada Manila, and the SM Mall of Asia Complex, while a few minutes away—thanks to the NAIA Expressway—are Manila’s four airport terminals, making it also an appropriate airport hotel.
A proprietary brand of the prominent Erawan Group of Thailand, Hop Inn is a chain of quality budget hotels with four main selling points: cleanliness, convenience, comfort, and safety. Outside Manila, its properties are all in Thai provinces and smaller cities, such as Kanchanaburi, Phitsanulok, and Trang.
We arrived at the hotel by a quick GrabCar ride from the airport. Since it’s still new, our driver was unfamiliar with it, but thanks to GPS and the fact that the colorful hotel towers from afar, we found it easily.
After a swift check-in by the super friendly and efficient front staff, we were handed our keys. We were assigned a Deluxe Room, which we were told was more spacious than the standard ones.
The room was simple as far as hotel rooms go, but it was bright and absolutely spotless. It covered all the basics—a bed that I found to be comfortable, a cable TV, high-speed wi-fi, and a compact workstation—as well as some extras like a couch with ottoman and a coffee/tea making facility. The bathroom was surprisingly spacious, and it had a satisfying power shower.
As the hotel’s neighboring buildings are still under construction, the place was silent, allowing us to sleep soundly.
The hotel doesn’t have a restaurant; however, a 7-Eleven is already being built beside the hotel lobby. And aside from that, there are a multitude of restaurants and convenience stores in the area—there’s even a Starbucks, a McDonald’s, and a Kenny Rogers Roasters just a few steps from the hotel.
WHY STAY THERE?
-
Its rates are more affordable compared to the other hotels in the area.
-
The location in Aseana is unbeatable, and it’s also near the airport.
-
Rooms are bright and clean, and the bed is wonderful.
