I had been to Four Points by Sheraton Bali Kuta in the past to try out Best Brews, its good and incredibly affordable bar and grill. Since that visit—where I also had a chance to check out its rooms and facilities—I’d been eyeing to stay at the resort, and finally, the chance came for me to do so.
Four Points by Sheraton Bali Kuta is located along a less busy side road in Kuta. To me, that’s a good thing, but for partygoers, the scene in Kuta and Legian is just a few minutes by walking. The Kuta Beach isn’t far off either—Jalan Pantai Kuta (where Beachwalk Shopping Center also is) is only about half a kilometer from the resort.
After a lunch in Benoa, I took an Uber to the resort to check-in. It wasn’t particularly busy that afternoon, so I was immediately attended to by two of the friendly staff to arrange formalities and hand welcome amenities in the form of a cold towel and a fruity popsicle—both of which proved to be a godsend that hot afternoon.
The modish lobby was obviously designed by someone with good taste. The chandeliers were conversation pieces, and the random knickknacks that adorned the walls added to the lobby’s appeal.
In no time, I was already in my Deluxe Lagoon Access Room, which as the name suggests, had access to the lagoon pool. I immediately drew the curtains and opened the sliding door to see a deck with a lounge chair and a ladder for the pool.
The room looked pristine, in that everything was whitewashed. Most panels and surfaces were set in wood, and décor was kept simple. It was refreshing to encounter such a unique design concept in a Balinese resort, where you’d typically be expecting a lot of kitsch.
The room covered the usual resort needs, starting with the Four Points by Sheraton Four Comfort Bed, which I’ve always found to be supremely comfortable. On the other hand, the bathroom, which featured a walk-in shower, looked as immaculate as the room.
I tried the breakfast at The Eatery, which overlooks the lagoon pool. It featured a mix of Western, Asian, and Indonesian items that I thoroughly enjoyed.
I likewise had dinner at the laidback Best Brews, which like the last time, did not disappoint with its affordably-priced fare. Aside from being tasty, their dishes were presented nicely.
What stood out for me were the lamb chops and the salmon, both of which were cooked perfectly. The aloo tikki potato cakes were also surprisingly divine.
Since I was staying a couple of nights at the resort, I was able to explore the resort’s facilities fully. The resort boasts of two swimming pools—the lagoon pool and the rooftop pool—which I both enjoyed. In addition to these are a fitness center, a kids’ club, and a meeting and events space.
