Whatever story you’ve heard about Bangalore’s traffic jams, no matter how exaggerated, is most likely true—I actually experienced it first hand. Hence, the key in choosing a place to stay in the megalopolis is to stay near where you’re going most. For those doing business with the IT firms near the Outer Ring Road-Sarajapur Junction, DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Bangalore is a solid choice.
DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Bangalore is located within an upscale residential community near the Outer Ring Road-Sarajapur Junction, near IT parks and multinational companies like Microsoft. For leisure travelers, the drive to landmarks like the Lalbagh Botanical Garden and the Bangalore Palace doesn’t take too long on good traffic, and thanks to ridesharing apps Uber and Ola, getting to those places is cheap and convenient.
After getting received at the airport by the hotel’s representatives, I was welcomed by the charming staff with a chocolate chip cookie—a DoubleTree by Hilton global tradition.
I was billeted in a King Deluxe Room with a balcony. The thing about this hotel is that as a DoubleTree Suites property, its large studios and suites—all with a kitchenette, living area, and dining area—are meant for long-staying guests. However, they have no problem taking in guests needing a room for a night or two.
My room had everything I needed for my trip, including the Sweet Dreams by DoubleTree signature bed, which I found to be supremely comfortable. The immaculate bathroom, meanwhile, had a walk-in shower and a suite of amenities.
I was trying to be careful on where I’d eat, so I had my meals at the hotel, trying out its restaurant and its room service. The Indian cuisine was of course on point, but what surprised me were the Western dishes that turned out to be delicious.
I had breakfast at the hotel’s all-day dining restaurant called Asia Alive, which serves pan-Asian cuisine. The buffet was a tasty selection of Indian and Western dishes.
In terms of facilities, the hotel boasts of a fitness center and a temperature-controlled rooftop swimming pool.
