The Hilton brand may have left us for now (it’ll make a comeback as per reports), but Hilton Worldwide, in partnership with SM Hotels and Conventions, opened up another member of its luxury portfolio, Conrad Manila. Here’s what we know about it and its opening. Read more…
ABOUT CONRAD
Conrad Hotels and Resorts is a luxury brand under Hilton Worldwide, with only 28 exclusive properties in key global destinations as of this writing.
The thrust of Conrad Hotels and Resorts, with the tagline Stay Inspired, is personalized, intuitive service. According to them:
Conrad Hotels & Resorts is access to life as you want to live it. A place to experience service and style on your own terms. A place to connect with the world. A place to stay inspired. We offer our guests one-of-a-kind experiences with sophisticated, locally inspired surroundings. Service that’s more than personal, it’s intuitive. And connections to people and places around the corner, and halfway around the world.
CONRAD MANILA
Conrad Manila is located within the SM Mall of Asia Complex, specifically atop the two-level S Maison, a high-end retail center. The SMX Convention Center is linked to the hotel by a walkway, and pretty much everything that comprises the SM Mall of Asia Complex—the mall, SM by the Bay, and SM Mall of Asia Arena, among others—is reachable by foot.
Conrad Manila’s distinctive architecture is inspired by the shipping vessels that ply the bay. Prior to its opening, it has already been awarded Best in Hotel Development, Best Hotel Architectural Design, and Best in Hotel Interior Design at the annual Philippines Property Awards.
All 347 guest rooms and suites are specially designed with intuitive technology. The rooms’ high-tech motion sensing switches air conditioning from energy-saving mode to cool, opens the curtains automatically, and adjusts the lighting to match the time of day.
In addition, rooms are furnished with 42-inch flat screen HDTV with an IPTV menu, wireless and wired internet, a Nespresso machine, Bluetooth-enabled entertainment technology, and hydrotherapy rain showers. As added benefits, suites and executive rooms offer Executive Lounge access, bathrooms that feature in-mirrored TV, and picturesque bay or city views.
Among the hotel’s features are an infinity swimming pool shaped like a coral to resemble the coastal seas of the Philippines, a 24-hour state-of-the-art fitness center, and Conrad Spa, which offers a variety of locally inspired treatments using organic ingredients. As for its MICE facilities, the hotel has four contemporary event halls and two sophisticated ballrooms, spanning more than 4000 square meters in space.
The hotel has six food and beverage outlets, all managed by Executive Chef Thomas Jakobi. These include two restaurants: Brasserie on 3, which offers an variety of sustainable and organic dishes; and China Blue by Jereme Leung, the first celebrity chef restaurant in the country to showcase Chinese cuisine. C Lounge, the hotel’s bar, on the other hand, transforms from a laidback venue during the day into a sophisticated destination bar at night.
Conrad Manila implements the Conrad Concierge mobile app, which allows guests to fine tune their stay details—from pre-selecting bath amenities to advanced check-in—with a smartphone or tablet. The hotel also participates Hilton HHonors loyalty program, which gives members a slew of benefits like exclusive member rates and free standard wi-fi.
