There were carols, as well as Santa Claus parading with his elves on a golf cart transformed into a “sleigh.” I couldn’t believe I was in sunny and humid Johor Bahru—specifically in LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort, where the Brick-Tacular Holidays celebrations have already begun.
The Sleigh Parade with Santa Claus and his elves, which happens twice a day around the park, is just one of the many activities and experiences resort guests may enjoy for the 2016 holidays.
For one, a Festive Stage has been set up, where holiday characters hold games and activities, sing carols, and entertain photo ops. This is also where an interactive Christmas show featuring the story of the grumpy Mr. Carl is presented twice daily.
Beside it are the Snow Village, where there are special snow effects four times daily, and the unique Christmas tree made entirely of DUPLO blocks. The tree is said to be the tallest in Asia and is enthrallingly lit up nightly at 7:00 PM.
For the holidays, LEGOLAND Express has been modified as a Christmas adventure to find Rudolph and his friend along the train’s tracks, while the area near it has been decorated to be a lively Christmas market selling festive items.
Meanwhile, those who decide to spend New Year’s Eve at LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort will be in for a treat. At 7:45 PM of December 31, the skies will be illuminated by 3D musical fireworks, which everyone must view with special glasses.
And perhaps the biggest highlight for this year’s holidays is the advent calendar activity, similar to what they have in Europe. But in the LEGOLAND Malaysia version, exciting prizes can be won by guests who luckily get picked every night to open a flap in the calendar. Prizes include a set of flight tickets for family of four to Chiang Mai, various series of LEGO boxes, and hotel stay packages, just to name a few.
The Brick-Tacular Holidays festivities will run until December 31, 2016. For more details, check out www.legoland.my, and stay updated on resort happenings through Facebook and Twitter.
