We like hotels that speak to us as millennial travelers—hotels that cater to our needs and whose style appeal to our sensibilities. We’re adding one more hotel to this list—Four Points by Sheraton Bangkok, Sukhumvit 15. In various aspects, it met or exceeded our expectations.
Four Points by Sheraton Bangkok, Sukhumvit 15, as the name suggests, is located in Sukhumvit Soi 15, which is sandwiched between Sukhumvit Soi 11, a nightlife hotspot known for its eclectic mix of bars and clubs, and Sukhumvit Soi 21, where the popular shopping mall Terminal 21 is located in.
Getting elsewhere—like to the shopping districts of Siam and Ratchaprasong—is easy, for the Asok and Nana BTS Skytrain stations, as well as the Sukhumvit MRT station are merely a few minutes by foot. Taxis and Uber cars ply the area nonstop too.
Four Points by Sheraton is a brand under the well-regarded Starwood Hotels and Resorts portfolio, which it shares with esteemed brands like W, St. Regis, Westin, Le Meridien, and Aloft. With the mantra “Travel Reinvented,” the brand provides its guests with “Simple Pleasures”—“everything you need, plus the style and extras you love.”
Compared to some of its Starwood sisters in Bangkok, Four Points by Sheraton Bangkok, Sukhumvit 15 is hip and trendy. Colorful interiors, young staff, and pop tracks piped into its public areas—the hotel radiates an undeniably youthful energy, which we liked a lot.
Modern and refreshing, the style of our room appealed to us the moment we stepped in. The spacious room was elegantly laid out, set in a palette of neutral colors and faux wood finishes.
Obviously conceived with today’s travelers in mind, it came with everything we needed. As the room description goes:
Stay your way with the modern amenities you expect and the style you want in one of our 268 guestrooms. Wind down in front of a 32-inch LCD TV with a hot cup of coffee or tea and get a great night’s sleep on our Four Points by Sheraton Four Comfort Bed. Connect to the internet for free and enjoy free bottled water every day. And if you need to take care of business, there’s a large workspace with desk lamp, executive chair, and Plug & Play station for you too.
Despite being a select-service hotel, Four Points by Sheraton Bangkok, Sukhumvit 15 has no shortage of facilities. It has a concierge, a gym, a business center, four meeting spaces, and a swimming pool, which serves as the venue of a trendy pool party that happens every month.
FOOD AND DRINK
We had our breakfasts at The Eatery, the hotel’s all-day dining restaurant. Its selection was admittedly smaller compared to other hotels, especially five-star ones, but it had Western, Asian, and Thai fare that were both tasty and filling.
I was likewise able to try amBar, its stylish rooftop bar. It features a range of creative cocktails, including the 7 Deadly Sins Signature Cocktails, which as the name suggests, are inspired by the seven deadly sins. And aside from alcohol, it features an extensive menu of reasonably-priced bar chow, which surprisingly didn’t lack in quantity and quality. I personally loved their take on the classic quesadillas.
Service was great. The staff we interacted with, at the front desk and the concierge, were always armed with a greeting and a smile.
VALUE FOR MONEY
We believe rates at Four Points by Sheraton Bangkok, Sukhumvit 15 are great value, considering its location, rooms, and service. Plus, it’s among the most affordable Starwood hotels in Bangkok, and Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG) members get preferential rates on top of extra perks.
