Being one of the hotels in the country with the most prominent social media presence, Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila is kicking off Social Media Week 2013 with a handful of activities. Their weeklong celebration is derived from Mashable’s Social Media Day that celebrates how we, the connected generation, are globally together in this digital revolution.
Right at the lobby, they’ve set up a social media-inspired floral centerpiece that allows guests to share their responsible social media resolution for the year. All photos will be shared on the Facebook page of the hotel. Meanwhile, those dining at their various food and beverage outlets will receive themed treats, such as expertly-crafted French macaroons with Facebook and Twitter icons.
To make their commemoration of Social Media Day 2013 even bigger, they’re giving away 13 Magnifique Prizes on June 29, 2013, including ten lunches for two at the well-celebrated buffet restaurant Spiral, two overnight stays in a superior room with breakfast buffet for two, and an exclusive “SoLuxurious at Sofitel” package that goes with a social media butler who will create a social media diary documenting the guests’ luxury stay. Those who wish to participate must use the hashtags #SofitelManila and #SofitelSMday.
Lastly, Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila will host a virtual “tweet and greet” event and an exclusive dinner for the movers and shakers of the Philippine social media scene. Exciting live tweet feeds and raffle draws will happen during the said event.
